Halle, Chloe, Doechii, and Normani:

It’s time to work late

The Final Purge _Artists

1 – Halle Bailey

2 - Doechii

3 – Chloe Bailey

4 - Normani

Mostly rap with some parts sung

(1 - higher pitched cutesy voice)

Yours truly is starting the purge

The age of Aquarius has awoken everyone’s urge

(2 - lower pitched verse)

To eat the rich and go back for seconds and thirds

Gen X thinks it’s just new Gen Z slang that has emerged

(1)

I’m sad watching adults make fun of Gen Alpha kids who don’t know how to read

Little do they know Gen Z is throwing it back to textbook French revolution history

(4)

Boomers throw a workplace fit because we don’t dream of labor

They’re so busy looking down at us they never looked up to see their greatest elder

It was Baldwin who caught the phrase but Gen Z threw it to the internet league so the baseball could go major

(1)

I’m tired of hearing adults bully Gen Alpha kids addicted to their tablets

Always talking about healing your inner child but forget the children of the present?

(3)

Oh, the places Gen Alpha will go

They’ll heal the world just let them steal the show

They’ll make Gen Z look like the bar was so low

They’re the Apple of Gen Z’s eye

We see how high Gen Alpha will fly

Their listening ears are off (1) whisper for every one of society’s lies

So young in a pandemic with zoom classrooms

So young and already been through so much trauma and gloom

In Buddhism, they teach that in the garbage pile, the lotus will always bloom

(4)

So, when you see their parents stressed just know that they’re doing their best

The world crumbled and left Millennials (all) one hell of a mess

Gen Z is quick to picket

But we must fight for Millennials who were deceived by the golden ticket

Just like the little blueberry girl, they made their way into the chocolate factory

Anyone who was obedient was promised the sweetest candy

(3)

So, if you see them zoom in and lose their cool

Just know it’s because they followed Buzzfeed’s recipe that promised the tastiest food

They believed in WHO so they kept their mask on to be oh so good

(2)But in 2008, when they checked their grandma’s bed to make sure she didn’t choke on what she chewed

(1 - higher pitched scared) It’s a big bad wall street banker

(2 - lower pitched devilish)And Millennials were little red riding hood

(ALL - singing)

As we heal it becomes real that we take our foot off the necks of older generations who were never taught to feel

(2 - singing) Reagan’s fireside chats instructed them to wrap their trauma in a pretty package with a big bow to seal

(4 -rapping)

Us young ones see a president’s tweet before we run downstairs on Christmas morning and open too many presents all messy

We get to yell and scream and work it out in therapy

But age never stopped depression and anxiety

(3)

Battered veteran grandpas leave grandmas for heaven and asked the angels for wars no mo’

They look down to see on earth that she still gets so lost in her woes

(2)

In her mind, she disappears into past memories

And gets so happy when the phone rings because maybe someone will finally keep her company

But those scamming thieves try to trick her into thinking it’s her favorite grandkiddie

They call to say “Grandma, I’m in jail so get your wallet hastily”

“Send all your life savings quick and irreversibly”

(4)

Her story is so common

It’s all the rage, It’s all the trendy fashion

Our elders wear worn down vintage sadness

Just to see us on Facebook frolic in sunflower fields in our damn near free Shein dress

What’s the point in all this therapy if we don’t share our wealth with those born earlier on?

(3)

It’s okay if their eyes squint

It’s okay if they don’t get it

(2) Because something so pure was meant to be blindingly bright

(3) Just like Papa Pope said

(4) In the face of darkness, you drag everyone into the light

(1 - higher pitched cutesy voice)

Yours truly is starting the purge

The age of Aquarius has awoken everyone’s urge

(4) To wear the white hat because we came out of quarantine to converge

(3) For us to enjoy the earth as our inner monsters and an angel merge

(2) Because we’ll honor the dark and the light as we emerge

(1 - higher pitched cutesy voice) This sermon today came from all our revelations

(All - lower pitched) and women are about to take y’all to church

The Final Purge Abstract

What is the purge?

The purge is a popular horror film movie about a group of young murderers who seek to kill a wealthy family due to their riches. However, by the end of the movie, these murderers realized that they became the people they hated the most.

Why is the title the Final Purge? This song is not about continuing cycles of hatred and violence but beginning a new one of understanding and kindness.

What is the age of Aquarius?

The astrological phrase, Age of Aquarius, refers to the planet of Pluto as it moves into the zodiac sign of Aquarius. Pluto influences power, transformation, and rebirth. The sign of Aquarius represents innovation, technology, freedom, individuality, and social progress. The Age of Aquarius is an astrological transit that has not occur for 2,160 years and is meant to bring power to truth and move society forward.

What makes the song stand out?

It’s a song that is not only addictive to listen to but addictive in lyrics and musical choices. It’s not written to be a song but a call to action which will keep people coming back. The song stands out because the lyrics, melody, and production all work to heighten emotional impact and keep people coming back to listen to the song. This song is not meant to be a distraction but rather a confrontation that leads people to have different reactions about what it means to be human and fit in society.

Who is the audience?

This song is a message for America but will resonant worldwide. Sometimes one person just has to plant the seed for others to realize how useless all the fighting and sadness is for our soul. The song calls out all the 4 major generations alive to calls us all in to not get the generation title so stuck that it divides us. It’s not we’re all FUCKED but we’re ALL fucked.

Why these artists?

Gen Z is constantly in the news about how they shake these things up so it only makes sense that all the performers be Gen Z to shake shit up

It can’t go to a man because we’re used to hearing about men who speak on violence and talk about revolution superficially (yeah squabble up). If this song is going to be a breath of fresh air, everyone can agree that these artists are all triple threats of equal talent and if the song is about coming together and creating something powerful then it was super easy to pick these four. Even though they are equally talented, their careers have gone 4 separate ways and this is analogous to America. We’re all equally deserving of sharing the center stage but we just need a chance to come together.

Why each artist individually?

·        I envisioned Halle as being the leader for both her musical talent and personal life. If this song is going to be a call to action, then it must start with a mother. There’s a reason that they call it mother land, mother earth, and mother tongue because a mother is a true leader. Also musically, she has an angelic voice but is known for embodying a true feisty Aries. She also has her midheaven in Aquarius. A person’s midheaven is about how they plan to inspire the world and for all these reasons it fits perfectly to make her the leader, have her sing the bait of the song, and drop the song on her Spotify.

·        I wrote it as a poetry which is rap and when I think of rap, I think of Doechii because she’s learning from the mothers of rap who came before her but still giving something fresh and new. She is a rebel and knows how to channel chaotic energy into her rap and give a sense of urgency like her hit Crazy. She is hungry to show the world her talent and I need that energy in the song

·        I love Chloe’s musical genius and a genius song needs a genius on it.

·        Normani because she’s Normani and literally can do anything
